Canonbury Veterinary Practice is an ever expanding health care centre encompassing all of your pets needs- from a new toy to a life-saving operation. Situated in the heart of Islington with ample parking, the practice is open 365 days a year and offers a 24 hour emergency service. So whatever the hour of the day, you can be confident that help and advice is just a phone call away. Our vets have many years experience, and each has a special interest in a particular element of small animal medicine. All our staff are committed to the health and happiness of every pet that walks through the door.

Vaccination

Vaccinate your cat as a kitten to protect against killer diseases. After that we will recommend a vaccination regime that suits your cat's lifestyle at their annual physical examination. We will send you a reminder for this examination every year.

Feeding

Feed a high quality dry food. Never leave food available. Keep your cat lean and always interested in food. Aim for the 'sleek Puma' look, not the 'Jabba the Hut' look.

Worm Prevention

We will worm your kitten at each of the first vaccinations and at the time of neutering. We recommend you worm your cat every 3 months with 'Drontal Cat' complete wormer.

Flea Prevention

Do something to prevent fleas. We recommend a six monthly 'Program' injection which prevents fleas from breeding in your home. Or you can use monthly 'spot-on' Frontline.

Neutering

We recommend that your kittens be neutered by 20 weeks of age. Neutering prevents many behavioural and physical problems.

Oral Care

Minimise dental disease by feeding a food for which the teeth of your 'hunting creature' have been designed.

Pet Health Insurance

Diagnosis and treatment can run into a lot of money. It is our duty to advise you that this practice provides a premium service and not an economy service. We strongly advise you to insure the health of your pet as soon as you can.
