From simple frames to the most elaborate we have the tools, techniques and expert staff to meet your needs. All of our frames are made on our premises - we do not import. This way we ensure the consistency of quality and service in our work that we have built our reputation on.

Bespoke Framing

The nature of bespoke framing is to consider each artwork for its unique properties; and the values of each work will influence the way in which the work is presented.

Conservation Framing

With the conservation aspect we offer a full range of acid free and pH neutral conservation mounting materials, including acid free spacers, and if you are looking to protect your artwork from the harmful effects of UV rays, we have a wide range of glass with varying grades of protection. 

Mounting

We offer different types of mount board, which are used either for floating or bevel mount cutting, creating an aperture (opening).

Our mount card range runs from a basic board, which is budget-priced to a full acid-free conservation board, that we use on artwork that holds any value. We have a wide range of colours and sizes of mount card, details of which can be found here. We always back all valuable artwork with an acid-free barrier board that protects the artwork from any acids present in the final backing board, and all artwork is attached with acid-free tape. Our team are happy to advise on the quality of board that is right for your artwork.

Memorabilia

We are able to mount and display all manner of memorabilia, from items of clothing, collections of medals, shells and wedding bouquets, as a small example, we have even framed Mohammad Ali’s boxing gloves and shorts!

Repairs and Re-glazing

We are happy to quote on all repair work, items are charged on an hourly labour rate, and replacement glass etc is priced accordingly.

Photographs

Photographs need to be handled carefully and there are a variety of issues that need to be taken into account when discussing framing options. For example, we will always recommend a bevel mount or spacer to avoid contact with the surface of the photograph with the glass. Please speak to one of our staff for further information.

Batiks, Oils & Fabrics

All of the above will require some kind of stretching technique, either to a wooden stretcher or board. The item can then be edged with a beading or framed in a traditional manner, with either a conventional frame or tray frame. Our staff will explain all the different options on viewing the artwork.

Glass

We use 2mm float glass as standard, but with all artwork that has an intrinsic value we offer a variety of UV filtered glass. We also offer a water white glass that has no blue or green cast and is therefore very clear. We are able to quote on all the above, plus museum quality glass.

With diffused or ‘non-reflective’ glass we offer a standard 2mm glass and a UV filtered non-reflective glass. We are also able to frame items in both acrylic and perspex, and again there are a variety of qualities. Please enquire if you wish to know more. 

Perspex Box Presentation

Our framing services include designing made-to-measure perspex boxes. These boxes allow for the presentation of a variety of artwork, which is ‘floated’ to create the illusion of minimal framing. Perspex boxes are best used for 3D objects such as sculptures, collections of memorabilia, items of clothing etc. As the boxes are a seamless structure, it is a non-complicated display unit, contemporary in its nature.
