Chutney Mary, Veeraswamy, Amaya and several Masala Zone restaurants in London, England, are well known restaurants serving real Indian food owned by Masala World.

Masala World seeks to create restaurants with real Indian cuisine from the many regions of India in an appealing ambience with friendly hospitable service and stylish hospitality.

Masala World has won the Restaurateur of the Year Award in the high-profile Tatler Restaurant Awards. The restaurant group serves over 900,000 customers a year. It uniquely spans both fine dining and casual dining restaurants serving real Indian cuisines.

The Promoter Directors of Masala World are Mr Ranjit Mathrani (a former senior investment banker), Ms Namita Panjabi and Ms Camellia Panjabi - a leading world authority on Indian food.

Fine Dining

 

Chutney Mary, located in Chelsea, London was created in 1990. It won the Award of the Best Indian Restaurant in the UK shortly afterwards. Chutney Mary has won numerous other awards and accolades.

Veeraswamy, UK's oldest Indian restaurant, was acquired in 1997 and transformed twice since its purchase. National Geographic, the highly respected travel magazine, has named Veeraswamy as one of the 10 Best Destination & Special Restaurants in the World. No other UK restaurant is in the top 10.

Amaya, their latest top-end restaurant was launched in October 2004. It won two prestigious restaurant awards in the UK in the same year - The Tio Pepe ITV Award for the Best Restaurant of the Year as well as the Best New Restaurant of the Year. Amaya has also been awarded a Star in the Michelin Red Restaurant Guide since 2006.


Casual Dining

 

The casual dining restaurants are under the Masala Zone banner and were launched in 2001. They combine real Indian food at honest prices with casual style. Each Masala Zone restaurant has its own unique ambience, combined with the same Indian food and friendly service.

There are currently six Masala Zone restaurants all in London – Covent Garden, Soho, Bayswater, Earls Court, Camden Town and Islington - all creating genuine Indian tastes.

The next Masala Zone restaurant will open in London, in Fulham, in November 2009. More Masala Zone restaurant in London will follow steadily, all providing authentic Indian flavours.
